Theory of Change

We believe Theory of Change is a powerful tool for making sense of complexity, planning effective strategies and pathways to achieve positive change, and communicating intentions with stakeholders. This involves deep empathy for those we are serving and understanding what changes are important to them, rigorous exploration of what works, stress-testing our theories and challenging our assumptions about how change will happen and what is required to ensure positive changes are set to last.

A Theory of Change simplifies the complexity of the systemic changes connected to an organisation and its stakeholders by mapping out its impact pathways. It outlines core organisational activities and how they translate to different outcomes in order to influence the impact goals that are to be achieved. This provides a blue print for measuring and managing impact towards achieving impact goals.
